Android® Cookbook - Terms Of Service

Please read this before signing up!

In signing up for this site and/or uploading content, you agree to the following Terms Of Service: this is a binding contract.

1. Definitions
   You means the person signing up for a no-cost site membership. If you are acting for a company or other entity, you assert that you have permission to act on their behalf in displaying source code and description.
   We and Us refers to RejmiNet Group Inc., (operators of this site on contract with O'Reilly Media) and our operators, editors and other personnel, whether hired or on contact.
   Your Work includes recipes you contribute, comments you make on others' recipes, and any other information that is obviously intended to be public.
2. You agree and acknowledge that Your Work is being licensed to the Android Cookbook, and any other users, under Creative Commons cc-by (Attribution) License (the License), and that the License is nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable and worldwide. We agree and acknowledge that you retain ownership of all rights in and to your submission, including the copyright, subject to the License.
3. Android Cookbook membership is not available to persons under the age of 18 or to any user suspended or removed from the Android Cookbook service by Android Cookbook staff. By using the Android Cookbook service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your country of residence) and have not been previously suspended or removed from the Android Cookbook service.
4. You are solely and entirely responsible for all content that you upload, and its subsequent use. You warrant that all content uploaded by you: (i) does not include unauthorized disclosure(s) of personal information, trade secrets, or confidential information; (ii) does not violate anyone's rights, including without limitation intellectual property rights; (iii) does not contain software viruses or any other elements designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any software, systems, or devices; (iv) does not contain or link to commercial solicitations; (v) is not subject to laws or regulations regarding the export and other dissemination of information or technology; and (vi) is not inaccurate, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or otherwise objectionable in a manner which would support third party legal claims.
5. You also warrant that you have full power and authority to upload all content that you submit. As between you and us, you assume all risk and consequences resulting from any third party's use of any of your submissions. If your submission is jointly authored, you warrant that you are fully authorized to agree to these Uploading Terms and Conditions on behalf of all of the authors, and that each of them will abide by these Uploading Terms and Conditions.
6. Members who submit copyright-infringing material more than once will have their accounts permanently closed.
7. You understand and acknowledge that you will not receive any payment or other separate consideration for any use or reuse of your submission by us, or anyone else, under the License. You acknowledge that You, not We, are liable for all claims arising out of your submissions, or their use, including but not limited to alleged violations of: (i) anyone's legal or intellectual property rights; or (ii) any statute, regulation, or law of any country. You agree to indemnify and hold us and our officers, directors, affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, agents, licensors, licensees, suppliers, employees and representatives, harmless from any costs, losses, and/or damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, related to any claim or demand (a) made by any third party due to or arising out of any content uploaded by you; and/or (b) your violation of these these Terms of Service.
8. We reserve the right to exercise editorial control, including rejecting or modifying Your Work and deciding which Recipes will be included in the Published Edition;
9. You will be credited as the Author of each Recipe you submit;
10. You will maintain a working email address in your Profile so that you can be notified of comments to your recipe and/or have private messages sent to you by other members of the site, and you agree to receive such messages, unless you explicitly opt out using the Profile page. You also agree to provide true and correct physical mail contact information so you can be notified in writing of prizes or other issues.
11. You agree not to harass anyone, harvest information, generate SPAM, plant SEO links, or otherwise use the site in ways that are not its intended use.
12. You agree that your site userName may be refused, changed, removed or replaced by us for reasons including but not limited to, using a userName to impersonate another person, using a user name that is offensive or violates third party intellectual property, etc.
13. You acknowledge that we may store your personal details on servers located in Canada and/or the United States of America, each of which has its own privacy legislation.
